Castle Hire

The castle is run as a private luxury holiday rental self-catered or fully catered on an exclusive basis or rented as a bed and breakfast a suite at a time. Private castle hire is available all year long. In Summer, Christmas, New Year, Easter and the last week of May our luxury chateau is only available for weekly rental commencing on a Saturday. Bed and breakfast rental of individual suites are available from September to June. In May, June, September and October we only take week end bookings for individual suites two months before the dates as it is peak wedding season.

The chateau’s interior is full of luxurious furnishings and impressive renaissance fireplaces complemented by gorgeous parquet floors, intricate plastering and original wood panelling. The magnificent reception rooms have floor to ceiling double aspect 5 metre high windows filling the rooms with sunshine both morning and afternoon. Guests can discover their own favourite place for reading, relaxing or enjoying a drink in the spacious living rooms and the halls.

Our luxury Chateau is set in 40 acres of gardens, meadows and woodland and is surrounded by 4,000 acres of unspoilt woods.

Rental Chateau

Our rental chateau presently sleeps 15 in six luxury suites in seven bedrooms. After summer 2008 we intend to renovate another three bedrooms on the top floor which will increase our capacity to 23. There is also a rental property available on the domain which sleeps 10 very comfortably (or 12 maximum for families with children). This property is available for a two night minimum rental outside of all school holidays. This gives a maximum occupancy after summer 2008 of up to 35 people which makes our chateau a wonderful location for any luxury house party, birthday, anniversary, wedding, family reunion or conference.

Castle Accommodation

In summary the chateau suites sleep:-

Louis Suite - sleeps 2 in a king bed on the ground floor but not suitable for disabled guests. Minimum 2 night booking

Henri Suite - Sleeps 3 - 2 in a superking (or twin beds) and 1 in a french day bed

Pompadour suite - Sleeps 2 in a superking (or twin beds)

Diane Suite - Sleeps 2 in a superking four poster bed

Medici Suite - Sleeps 2 in a superking bed

Proust Suite - Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. The beds can be set up as a superking and a king or all as twin beds. The second bedroom can only be accessed through the first bedroom. Both bedrooms access the ensuite.

Castle Vacation

Our aim is not to be a hotel as such but a very high quality, stylish yet relaxing space for castle vacations, private holidays, house parties, weddings and other events. The size and location of our rental chateau lends itself to a range of year-round activities.

Our aim is to make you feel that you are not staying in a hotel, but borrowing someone's luxury castle. Or, rather, that you've just lucked into your own castle - one that is dedicated to the pleasure principle.

Our chateau offers guests something similar to that thrill you get when you're staying at a friend's place when you realise that you fancy all their bits and bobs: their handsome book collection, their extensive DVD library, all of their music on CDs, their state of the art hi-fi system, their wi-fi network, their handy kitchen impliments, their condiments, herbs and spices. We are not talking about a sterile holiday rental here. When you rent the castle exclusively you get the keys to a fully fitted luxury home with all of the goodies for you to enjoy as if it is your own castle.

Your castle vacation can be enjoyed at any time of the year. The experience changes with the seasons, allowing guests to enjoy a link with nature, through the inspirational spring blooms of the blue bells and magnolias to the joy of summer and its wild flowers and to the stunning autumnal colours of trees, ferns and heather and the crisp clear days of winter and snow covering the ground around the chateau.

From June to September our rental castle is the perfect venue for fabulous lazy summer holidays with family and friends. Spring and Autumn are both ideal for weekend breaks, fairy tale weddings, house parties, activity courses and corporate events. The wonderful interiors, roaring fires, huge billiard table and comfortable sofas make Chateau du Guerinet ideal for a winter hideaway.

Holiday Chateau

We offer a number of different service levels that can be tailored to the different needs of our holiday chateau guests.

• Fully catered castle: For short breaks and special events, we can provide a full catering service with freshly prepared breakfasts and five course evening meals served every day.

For longer breaks of a week or more we offer three different service levels:

• Self Catered Castle: For summer holidays the rental chateau can be all yours for as long as you like. As we live here we will be around to help if you need us and to give the castle a full clean and linen change at the end of each week but otherwise we will leave you to get on with it.

• A daily helping hand: If your idea of a holiday is not doing too much housework, then we can organise a daily housekeeping service. The service includes collecting fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast, cleaning the kitchens, tidying the main castle rooms, making beds and cleaning bathrooms on a daily basis.

• Your own personal chef: Our final offer is for our in-house chef to serve delicious, freshly cooked, four-course evening meals. We have received many compliments on the meals served at the chateau. The meals are prepared with fresh ingredients from the local producers and complimented by our wine list featuring the best of the regional wines.

We provide wine or tea and coffee on arrival. A continental breakfast is included in the nightly rates for bed and breakfast bookings.

Wireless broadband is available to guests free of charge and mobile phone coverage is good throughout the chateau and the forest.

Our suites are wonderfully spacious and each has a different character with exquisite chandeliers and light fittings, and beautiful French touches making them all wonderfully restful.

Five of the suites are fitted with new super king size orthopaedic beds. Alternatively most of these rooms can be arranged as twin single suites upon request. These beds are incredibly comfortable, fitted with Egyptian cotton bed linen and down duvets promising a peaceful night’s sleep. Micro-fibre duvets and pillows are available upon request if you are hyper-allergic. Each suite has a flat screen colour TV and DVD player and guests are invited to choose from more than 300 DVDs from our library free of charge. Each ensuite has a hair dryer. Luxurious robes and slippers are also provided.
