ARRIVING BY PLANE

A number of airlines fly to Tours Airport. Ryanair flies daily from London Stanstead to Tours Airport and also to Poitiers which is 94 kilometres south of Tours and also to Angers which is 76 kilometres west of Tours.

Alternatively you could fly to Paris Charles De Gaulle or Paris Orly.

Easyjet flies from London Luton and from Southampton to Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.

Airfrance flies from London Heathrow, London Gatwick to Paris Charles de Gaulle and from London City to Paris Orly.

Flybe flies from Norwich and Exeter to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Alternatively you may wish to consider chartering a small plane to fly to Blois Aeroport only 10 minutes away from the Chateau. If so please contact us and we will provide you with charter company details. Chartering a flight allows you much more flexibility and is probably not as expensive as you would think and may add hours to your vacation.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

We are about a 40 minute drive from Tours Airport where you can hire a car from Avis, Hertz, Budget, National and Europcar.

From Tours drive follow the signs for the A10 and enter the motorway in the direction of Blois, Orleans and Paris. You will need to pay a toll of 2.70 euro and exit at junction 18 for Chateau-renault. Turn right onto the D31 and drive over a bridge across the A10 and take the next right and follow the signs to Morand. At the intersection in Morand with the convex mirror turn right towards St- Nicholas-des-Motets. Follow this until you get to St-Nicholas-des-Motets and turn right onto the D766 and drive to Herbault towards Orchaise. As you drive out of Herbault you will notice a big forest on the right. After the SITA sign on the left turn right at the white “Le Guerinet” sign.

Alternatively we are about a two hour drive from Paris Orly where you can hire a car from the same car hire companies. Drive out of Orly to the A10 (email us for ViaMichelin directions) and exit at junction 17 for Blois. Follow the green signs in Blois to Angers until you get to a roundabout with a green sign marked Chateau-Renault and Angers. You are now on the D766. Follow this through Moulineuf and Orchaise towards Herbault. About two minutes out of Orchaise you will notice a big forest on the left. Turn right at the white “Le Guerinet” sign. If you pass the SITA sign you have gone too far.

We are about a two and a half hour drive from Paris Charles de Gaulle but the Paris Peripherique can get very clogged with traffic. If you have never driven the peripherique before we strongly recommend you hire a car with GPS navigation. You need to follow the signs for the peripherique for Bordeaux and then for the A6A and the A11 and then the A10 and the directions are the same as from Orly once you get on the A10. You may want to print out the ViaMichelin directions below.

If you can only drive an automatic, we strongly suggest that you hire your car very early as the number of automatics available get booked very quickly especially in the summer.
