Rent castle - Hire Chateau - Proust Family Suite

The Proust Suite is in the middle of the west side on the first floor with views out over the front meadow and the surrounding woods. It is our family suite and can sleep four. The second bedroom with twin antique French beds can be accessed through an adjoining door if you require extra accommodation for children. The suite measures 30m2 with an extra 7m2 for the ensuite. The chambre has a super-king size bed and a new colour TV and DVD player, a table and a comfortable armchairs for relaxing. The suite has a stone fireplace and beautiful French mirrored built in dressing table surrounded by swags of French fabric. It has a bath with overhead shower for your relaxation and a lovely large old trumeau mirror. There is ample original built in storage in the bedroom and the ensuite.

Marcel Proust (1871 - 1922) famous french intellectual, novelist and critic was a good friend of Calman Levi, french publisher who owned Chateau du Guerinet at the beginning of the 20th century. Proust stayed at the chateau on many occasions. Proust is best known as the author of "In Search of Lost Time", a monumental piece of work comprising 7 volumes spanning some 3,200 pages and teeming with more than 2,000 characters. In his day, Proust was claimed to be the greatest novelist of the 20th century. It is most likely that he penned some of "In Search of Lost Time" here at our luxury chateau.
